ECTE Training via Ambition Institute
From September 2025, all Early Career Teachers starting their teaching careers at Victoria Academies Trust will be supported by Ambition Institute’s Early Career teaching Entitlement (ECTE).
We are proud to work with Haybridge Teaching School Hub – the designated Teaching School hub for Dudley and Sandwell and Delivery Partner for Ambition Institute – who host all ECTE training events for both our Early Career Teachers and Mentors.
Ambition Institute’s ECTE Programme builds on the thinking behind the Initial Teacher Training and Early Career Framework (ITTECF). It is designed to help early career teachers develop the skills and knowledge required to be successful in their roles. Each term ECTs work across modules that cover behaviour, instruction, curriculum and assessment and professional practice. They also develop an understanding of how pupils learn.
Alongside termly in-person conferences, ECTs attend six virtual clinics to address a typical teaching problem faced by most teachers based on their online, self-study modules linked to latest research and ideas for practical implementation. ECTs are further supported by regular instructional coaching sessions with their Mentor via Steplab to support their application of insights from the study materials into their classroom practice.
